The mattress comes vacuum roll packed, it should be unrolled as soon as possible and at least within one month of receipt.
When unwrapping, take care not to damage the fabric mattress cover. Lay it on a flat surface while allowing the mattress to expand which can take from 2 to 24 hours.
Once you have invested in your new product we feel it is important to give you advice to help it last for years to come.
Bed frames with centre rails and support legs: there must be a 5 mm gap left between the support legs and the floor. Also, it is recommended that a non slip pad/castor cup is placed under each leg/foot if the bed frame is being placed on a wooden/laminate floor. This is to help prevent the legs from slipping and damaging the centre rail.
Bolts can work loose, particularly on metal frames. We suggest you check they are tightened regularly.
Slats can break when too much weight is placed on one small area. For example, the most common reasons are kneeling on the bed, sitting on the edge of the bed close to the side rails or children jumping on the bed.
If you do have a broken slat, it is important to deal with it quickly to avoid further slats breaking due to the stability being compromised.
Rotate your mattress regularly. It is important that you rotate your mattress every week for the first few months and thereafter about every three months. This will prolong the life-span of your mattress and minimise impression marks.
Body shaped impressions are normal. Impression marks – sometimes known as settlement – are a normal characteristic of quality mattresses working as intended to conform to the shape of your body. These will be minimised with regular turning. Your mattress is designed for laying down on but if you must sit on it, to minimise the stress put on your bed, avoid sitting in the same place all the time (extra rotating is advisable), or on the very edge.
Let the mattress breath. Like a new car, a new bed may initially have a ‘new’ smell about it. This will eventually disperse if well aired.
Getting used to your new bed. Your body will take a while to adjust to sleeping on a new surface, so don’t worry if your new bed doesn’t immediately meet your expectations. Give it time – it could take a few weeks.
